Greenhill Faculty Artists Honored with Local & National Awards

Congratulations to three faculty artists in the Greenhill Fine Arts Department for their local and national recognition in their respective fields.
 
FRANK LOPEZ (US Photography
Lopez was awarded the Center’s 2020 Callanan Excellence in Teaching Award. This award is given to a photography teacher each year for their exemplary work and the following characteristics: a genuine passion for teaching, an ability to excite students to learn, a respect for students as individuals, and an enduring artistic curiosity. Lopez will receive a $5,000 cash award, participation in the 2021 Review Santa Fe Photo Festival, and free membership with CENTER. In addition, Lopez will be part of the CENTER 20/20 Photographer Presentations on Saturday, October 17, from 2:00 - 5:30 pm. PAIGE FURR (MS/US Visual Arts)
Furr was invited to exhibit in Denver, CO, in the “delecTABLE; the fine art of dining” show where her Industrial Container was featured in the promotional materials. She was also invited to exhibit in Manitou Springs, CO. In the “Cheers! Drink Up!” show, which was a celebration of the ceramic drinking vessel. Finally, Furr was also asked to participate in the Blue Line Arts exhibit “Off Center” in Roseville, CA.
 
WILL TURBYNE (MS/US Technical Theater
Turbyne was awarded a 2019-2020 DFW Theater Critics Forum Award for set design for Stage West’s production of The Children in Fort Worth. Each year, theater critics for Culture Map, Arts & Culture Texas, Dallas Art Beat, TheaterJones, Dallas Weekly, Dallas Voice, & Dallas Morning News see more than 40 productions per season and recognize outstanding theater artists and contributions in the metroplex.
