NASHER SCULPTURE CENTER PARTNERSHIP
Earlier this semester, Corbin Doyle, Video Production Filmmaking Teacher, reached out to North Texas arts and cultural organizations to help him build a partnership for a project for current AVP students.
“I wanted them [the students] to be motivated by something in this city outside of themselves. And through research and writing I wanted them to make narrative films within this partnership,” Doyle said. “One group really seemed to understand what I was asking and why. They understood the intent and the process. That place was the Nasher Sculpture Center.”
While the extent of the project is still under wraps, the partnership does include access to an upcoming show. From seeing those works, students will do research on the works and the artist, and combine this work with their own stories to make their own short, narrative films. There will be a screening of these Greenhill films at the Nasher on Sunday, April 19.
