Hornets Place Third at SPC Spring Championships

The Greenhill boys golf team traveled to Houston this week to compete in the 2025 SPC Championships. The two-day tournament delivered classic championship conditions.

Day one featured swirling winds gusting up to 35 mph and tough pin positions. After a rocky front nine, the team found their rhythm and posted a 309, placing them in a tie for fourth, just nine shots off the lead.

Day two brought more wind, plus spotty showers. Undeterred, the Hornets battled back early and, by the middle of the back nine, found themselves locked in a three-way fight for first with Kincaid and St. Mark’s. As the round wound down, a few tough breaks and missed opportunities knocked Greenhill out of contention. Still, their final-round 307 secured a third-place finish, just eight shots behind champions St. Mark’s and three behind runner-up Kincaid.

The team’s two-day total of 616 marks a new program high point, with scores improving in each of their last four SPC rounds.
