Kindergarten Students Perform 75th Nutcracker

For 75 years, the kindergarten Nutcracker has been a cherished Greenhill tradition and a highlight of the season. This year, we dedicated the performance to Pat McGee (Greenhill Preschool music teacher 1970-1994), who passed away on November 7, 2025.

As we celebrate 75 years of Greenhill School, we’re thrilled to mark the 75th performance of The Nutcracker. This beloved tradition is the longest-running Nutcracker performance in DFW and features our kindergarten students, narration by our Head of School, and music from the Chamber Orchestra.

This year’s production was dedicated to the memory of Pat McGee, who passed away on November 7, 2025.

Pat was the Preschool music teacher at Greenhill and directed The Nutcracker for 24 years (1970-1994). After retirement, Pat attended many performances of The Nutcracker as an audience member. Her obituary even mentioned her love of teaching The Nutcracker dances to the kindergarten students.

On Wednesday, December 17, several members of Pat’s family were in attendance and recognized. Her husband, Donald; son, Michael; daughter, Carolyn (Class of 1980); granddaughter, Rachel; and their spouses.

“Thank you for being here, and we thank you for sharing Pat with us,” Head of Preschool and Lower School Michael Simpson said.
