Faculty Member Named a Photolucida Critical Mass Top 200 Artist

Frank Lopez has been recognized as one of the Top 200 photographic artists in this year's Photolucida Critical Mass program, an international portfolio review that connects photographers with leading voices across the field. Open to photographers at all career stages, Critical Mass attracts thousands of submissions from around the world each year.

His portfolio, They Tried To Bury Us, But They Didn't Know We Are Seeds, explores themes of social justice, anti-fascism, generational trauma, and healing. The work was selected through a competitive process that began with thousands of submissions from photographers around the world.

Critical Mass finalists are reviewed by an international panel of curators, publishers, editors, educators, and artists. Lopez's selection places his work among a distinguished group of photographers receiving global recognition for the quality and impact of their portfolios.

Other recent awards he has earned include: Top 40 Finalist LensCulture Art of Photography Award (2026), LensCulture Interview (2026), Lenscratch Interview (2025), and CENTER REVIEW (2025).
