Students Earn Spots at State Conference

Congratulations to our Youth and Government Club students who competed last month to advance to the State Conference.

On November 15, Greenhill’s Youth and Government Club competed at the Texas Youth and Government District 5 Conference.

For the first time, Greenhill sent two teams to compete in the mock trial category. Greenhill A – Cannon Baker ’29, Ella Costabile ’26, James Gary ’26, Charlotte Faems ’27, Syrus Gupta ’26, Aydin Khan ’26, Xavier Rayvera ’26, and Ayush Shetty ’27 – secured a bid to state with a top-10 finish, and Greenhill B, a team comprised entirely of freshman first-timers – Naila Amol ’29, Aiden Azar ’29, Isabel Evans ’29, Julia Bella Frankfurt ’29, Amrita Madhavanur ’29, Dorian Rawlings ’29, and Maahi Varma ’29 – successfully secured the final qualification spot with a 17th-place finish. Both teams will participate in district court at the State Conference.

In the legislative category, all five Greenhill members – Akash Bose ’27, Anjali Kopparati ’28, Anvitha Sagi ’29, Sydney Terrell ’26, and Mahri Wenzel ’26 – advanced to State Conference, and Akash Bose ’27 won distinguished delegate at district.

In media, Lola Sagoe ’28 advanced to State Conference, and Sumedha Rapuri ’26 was named the State Media Chair and will serve as the head of media for the entire state of Texas.
