Alice in Wonderland, Jr.
“Curiouser and curiouser!”
Alice in Wonderland Jr. has been less a show to direct and more an adventure to join. Six weeks ago, we tumbled down the rabbit hole into a world of curious characters, impossible ideas, painted roses, mad hats, and moments when we wondered if we had lost our way. And somehow, we found our way.
What makes me most proud is not simply what these actors accomplished onstage, but who they became along the way. They worked, listened, took risks, and learned to trust themselves and one another. They discovered confidence, stretched beyond their comfort zones, and learned that theatre is an ensemble art: every person matters, and every contribution counts.
There were Golden Afternoons, challenges to Paint the Roses Red, and days when we were Mad as a Hatter. Through it all, this company kept showing up, growing, and believing in the magic we were creating together.
I am deeply grateful to my incredible team: Maddison Darnell, Emmanuel Espiritu, Will Turbyne, Leann Ellis, and Carly Hinson, whose creativity and dedication brought our world to life.
To our ninth-grade student production team, Sammar Agha, Addy Kloeber, Lily Moore, Ella Marvin, and Zayla Yousuf, and our amazing student tech crew: thank you for leading, creating, problem-solving, and making the behind-the-scenes magic happen.
To our entire company: thank you for taking the leap. It has been an absolute joy to journey through Wonderland with you.
