Greenhill School is proud to share that Ahan Jain ’27 has been awarded a National Gold Medal in Experimental Photography from the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards, the nation’s longest‑running and most prestigious creative recognition program for young artists and writers. His work first earned a Regional Gold Key, advancing his photograph to the national level – where it stood out among more than 335,000 submissions from across the country. Fewer than 700 students nationwide received a National Gold Medal this year. The award‑winning photograph, titled Crossing, exemplifies excellence in originality, technical skill, and artistic voice. The image was also recognized locally, earning third place at Fort Worth Country Day’s Black & White Images Exhibition, which was judged by legendary National Geographic photographer Bill Curtsinger. Ahan will be honored this June at the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards ceremony at Carnegie Hall in New York City, joining a distinguished legacy of past winners, including renowned artists, writers, and cultural leaders such as Tschabalala Self, Stephen King, Kay WalkingStick, Joyce Carol Oates, Amanda Gorman, and Andy Warhol. Presented by the Alliance for Young Artists & Writers, the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards celebrate young creatives whose work demonstrates exceptional vision and personal expression. Ahan’s photograph was selected by leaders in the visual arts and will be featured in the Awards’ online galleries and listed in Yearbook 2026, a companion publication highlighting National Medalists from across the country. Congratulations on this extraordinary accomplishment! |
