Greenhill’s Kian Sayyid '28 is headed back to the national stage after a standout performance with his club rowing team this spring. In May, he and his White Rock Rowing teammates competed at the Central Region Championships in Oklahoma City, where they captured a gold medal in the Men’s U17 8+ event and secured a spot at the U.S. Rowing Youth National Championships. This achievement marks an exciting return to nationals and reflects Kian’s steady growth in the sport. After first discovering rowing at a Learn-to-Row camp before entering eighth grade, Kian spent his early years as a coxswain, developing leadership and race strategy. Over time, he transitioned into a rowing seat and continued to build his strength and technical skill. Now competing in the bow seat, he will race against some of the top youth athletes in the country this summer. Kian’s journey is a testament to persistence and adaptability – qualities that are nurtured both on and off campus. His success reflects the same commitment to growth, teamwork, and discipline that defines Greenhill’s community, and we look forward to cheering him on as he competes at the national level. |
