Greenhill's Lift Every Voice Earns National CASE Silver Award
Lift Every Voice: 75 Greenhill Histories for 75 Years received a Silver Award from CASE, recognizing the project's impact, collaboration, and commitment to preserving community stories.
Greenhill School is proud to announce that Lift Every Voice: 75 Greenhill Histories for 75 Years received a Silver Award in the 2026 Circle of Excellence Awards from the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE).
CASE is the leading global professional association for those who work in communications, marketing, fundraising, and alumni relations at schools, colleges, and universities. Its annual Circle of Excellence Awards are considered one of the top honors in the field. The recognition carries special weight because peers select winners: hundreds of advancement professionals reviewed more than 4,185 submissions from institutions in 33 countries, and Greenhill's entry received Silver in the Targeted Constituency Engagement category.

Lift Every Voice is an oral history project capturing the voices and experiences of 75 extraordinary people of color (alumni, former faculty, and parents) who helped shape Greenhill's first fifty years. The idea took root after Greenhill's 50th anniversary celebration, prompted by a recognition that the school's history, as it had been told, was incomplete. The project came to life over the following years under the leadership of Associate Head of School for Mission, Community, and Culture Tom Perryman '81, culminating last school year during Greenhill's 75th anniversary celebration. |

Seventy-five participants gave video interviews, now preserved in the Greenhill Archives, paired with portraits taken by a team of student photographers. The final portraits and curated quotes – honoring the courage and contributions of people whose experiences made Greenhill better and challenging the school to keep learning from their wisdom – became a gallery exhibition in the Fine Arts Building during the 75th anniversary celebration, and were later compiled into a hardcover book published in summer 2026.
CASE judges praised the project's scope and craftsmanship: "This thoughtful and deeply human-centered initiative elevates the traditional oral history model by intentionally connecting past, present, and future through inclusive storytelling. The project's integration with milestone celebrations, use of student photographers, and coordination with alumni and community partners demonstrate a collaborative approach that enriches both process and outcomes. With strong participation, institutional impact, and a lasting, professional-quality result, this work stands as a meaningful and replicable example of how institutions can engage constituents, while embracing complex and authentic narratives."
This award belongs to everyone who helped bring Lift Every Voice to life: the 75 participants who generously shared their stories and memories; the team who recorded and preserved those interviews; Greenhill Photography and the student photographers who captured each portrait; Frank Lopez, Kasia Faber, and Katie Young, who helped coordinate the project and its exhibition.
