The Hornet Sports Association (HSA) serves to organize and facilitate the formation of youth sports teams for all Greenhill students who wish to play sports in prekindergarten - grade 6. Coordinated by the Greenhill Athletics Department and grade-level captain volunteers, the HSA strives to create teams in an inclusive and timely manner.

Hornet Sports Association - Boys' Basketball Coach

WORK HOURS AND EXPECTATIONS: 
A part-time, winter season appointment. On-campus responsibilities include practices on Sunday afternoons and games (whenever they are scheduled by whatever league the team decides to join). All coaches are employed on an annual basis and continued employment is based on annual performance reviews conducted by the Head Basketball Coach and Head of Athletics & Physical Education. 
 
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: 
The HSA-Basketball coach is responsible for supporting various aspects of the after-school basketball program, such as coaching team members. The coach is required to abide by the rules and regulations established by Greenhill School and the Hornet Sports Association. 
 
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE: 
  • Possess and maintain a coaching philosophy that is in accordance with the mission of Greenhill School; 
  • A strong commitment to the student-athlete; 
  • Coaching experience;
  • Good communication skills with players and parents. 
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES: 
  • Encourage, train, and coach the participants of HSA-Basketball; 
  • Execute practice sessions; 
  • Represent Greenhill School and the HSA-Basketball program in a professional manner and within the bounds of good sportsmanship. 
This is an exempt position that is paid a coaching stipend over the duration of the season.  
 

Hornet Sports Association - Girls' Basketball Coach

WORK HOURS AND EXPECTATIONS:

Hornet Sports Association - Lacrosse Coach

WORK HOURS AND EXPECTATIONS: 
A part-time, spring season appointment. On-campus responsibilities include practices on weekday afternoons and games (whenever they are scheduled by whatever league the team decides to join). All coaches are employed on an annual basis and continued employment is based on annual performance reviews conducted by the Head of Athletics & Physical Education and the Assistant Head of Athletics & Physical Education. 
 
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: 
The HSA-Lacrosse coach is responsible for supporting various aspects of the after-school lacrosse program, such as coaching team members. The coach is required to abide by the rules and regulations established by Greenhill School and the Hornet Sports Association. 
 
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Possess and maintain a coaching philosophy that is in accordance with the mission of Greenhill School;
  • A strong commitment to the student-athlete;
  • Coaching experience;
  • Good communication skills with players and parents. 
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES: 
  • Encourage, train, and coach the participants of HSA-Lacrosse (Grades 3-4) and (Grades 5-6);
  • Execute practice sessions;
  • Represent Greenhill School and the HSA-Lacrosse program in a professional manner and within the bounds of good sportsmanship. 
This is an exempt position that is paid a coaching stipend over the duration of the season. 
 

Hornet Sports Association - Soccer Coach

WORK HOURS AND EXPECTATIONS: 
A part-time, fall and/or spring season appointment.  On-campus responsibilities include practices during the week/weekends (at coach’s discretion) and games (whenever they are scheduled by whatever league the team decides to join). All coaches are employed on an annual basis and continued employment is based on annual performance reviews conducted by the Head Soccer Coach and Head of Athletics & Physical Education. 
 
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: 
The HSA-Soccer coach is responsible for supporting various aspects of the after-school soccer program, such as coaching team members. The coach is required to abide by the rules and regulations established by Greenhill School and the Hornet Sports Association.

Hornet Sports Association - Softball Coach (Grades K-6)

Hornet Sports Association: Flag Football Coach

WORK HOURS AND EXPECTATIONS: 
A part-time, fall and/or spring season appointment. All coaches are employed on an annual basis and continued employment is based on annual performance reviews conducted by the Head of Athletics & Physical Education.

The HSA-Flag Football coach is responsible for supporting various aspects of the after-school flag football program, such as coaching team members. The coach is required to abide by the rules and regulations established by Greenhill School and the Hornet Sports Association.
