Hornets Earn Third at SPC Winter Championships

The Greenhill girls soccer team placed third at the 2025-2026 Winter SPC Championships on February 5-7 in Dallas.

The Greenhill girls soccer team kicked off its SPC Championship run as the #6 seed, facing Kinkaid School in the first round. The match came down to the final seconds when Alex Han forced a red card on Kinkaid, which set Eden Collins up for a free kick to place the ball over the wall and into the goal, putting the Hornets up 1-0 with no time left on the clock! Goalie Alice Stenberg had multiple saves in the game.

The girls advanced to the semifinals against St. Stephen's Episcopal School, where they lost a hard-fought 3-0 match.

That set the stage for a rebound match against Hockaday School, a team they had tied earlier in the regular season. After falling behind 1-0 early, the girls stayed composed and confident. Two spectacular goals from more than 30 yards out, one from Noora Qureshi and another from Alex Han, sealed a monumental 2-1 victory and third place in the tournament.

They finished the season 7-4-2 and 4-3-1 against SPC opponents. Congratulations on a strong season and showing in the championships!
