Greenhill alumni soccer players outscore varsity squad

Coach Dick Hall kicked off his 38th and final year as head soccer coach at Greenhill School with the annual Alumni soccer game on Saturday, January 2. Thirty former players and one four-year team manager were present for the showdown.

Travelling in to join the game from California to Connecticut and all areas in between, alumni from every decade of Coach Hall’s career were in attendance, including members as far back as 1975. Under a beautiful, sunny sky and before a number of family spectators, both former and present, the alumni team, coached by Louis Zweig ’82, marched to a 3-1 triumph over the varsity squad. The three goals scored by the alumni team were made by former team members Brad Blonkvist ’87, Jamal Carty ’91, and Taylor Burks '03.

The annual game is a way of connecting the current players with the past players and making sure the legacy of soccer excellence at Greenhill continues.
