Greenhill Student Receives Literary Prize and Publication
Congratulations to Lekha Chavala '29 who was recently announced as a winner of the 2021 Booth Tarkington Prize for Young Writers. Lekha submitted two pieces to the Butler Bridge Program and received this award for her prose work, Stars. Her other prose piece, The Devastating Fire, was also selected to appear in the Butler Bridge Program's first-ever anthology of student work, blueprints.
Butler University founded the Butler Bridge Program to promote creativity, imagination, and individual voices in literary arts and education. The program connects Butler University and its community and connects students who aspire to higher education with college mentors, who are eager to share what they know.
The Butler Bridge Program had a record number of submissions this year, and we're proud to celebrate Lekha's selection for this prestigious award and print publication.
