Greenhill Robotics Team Qualifies for State Championship

The Motorheads team (Kevin Han ’23, Pranav Joshi ’24, Aditya Pulipaka ’24, Dibyadeep Saha ’24, Vedant Subramanian ’26, and Tarik Syed ’26) were recently notified they are moving on to the Texas State Championship on March 24-26 in Belton, Texas. This is the first time Greenhill will have a presence at the State Championship.

NXT Regional Championship
The team competed in the NTX Regional Championship on February 25 — the first time in four years Greenhill has had a showing in regionals.

The Motorheads team competed in a pool of 40 strong regional teams. They fought a great fight all day but were plagued by an elusive intermittent ground wire. Once the issue was found and fixed, the team’s robot was a powerhouse for their last two of six matches.

At the end of the tournament and before the Finals, they finished tenth with a 4-2 record. They also received the 2nd Place Design award given by a panel of judges based on their design process and final robot design.

However, after Finals matches, due to the complex competition team selection and award sequencing that determines the 18 teams going on to the State Championship, the Motorheads team was sequenced 19th. This meant that they were not headed to State.

They were clearly disappointed with this outcome but proud of their teamwork, process, and overall performance during the season.

However, late last week, coaches were notified that one team is not able to go to State, meaning that Motorheads are moving on due to how well they did at Regionals and the season.

Congratulations to the team and coaches (Joe Meagher, Charlie Janicki, and Sonia Chin) on the phenomenal work this season, and good luck at State!
