Congratulations to our Middle and Upper School Greenhill Quiz Bowl teams!
The four Middle School teams qualified for the playoffs in the first tournament of the season, the TQBA Jamboree Tournament. The competition included schools from across the state, and all our students' hard work and dedication led them to success.
Greenhill B won the Middle School division of the Jamboree tournament with an undefeated record of 10-0. This is the team’s 6th consecutive Texas middle school tournament win. They faced off against the best teams in the state, and once again, they emerged undefeated (and by significant margins). On tossups, the team was led by a monster performance from Kate, who finished the tournament as the overall top finisher. The team was rounded out by Evans at 12th, Aaron at 31st, and Maya at 41st.
Greenhill C finished regulation with an impressive 4-2 record. In the first round of playoffs, they contested a close match against Village that came down to the wire. Collin finished the day as the 11th individual scorer, followed by Tarik at 15th, Vijay at 20th, and Hasan at 34th.
Greenhill D finished last year with a huge victory in the final tournament of the season, and they followed it up with an incredible 5-1 performance in regulation on Saturday. They picked up another win before facing off against Greenhill B in the quarter-final round. On tossups, Smriti led the way and finished as the 7th overall performer. This performance was followed by Henry at 32nd, Naomi at 72nd, and Vikram at 73rd.
Greenhill E finished regulation with an impressive record of 4-2. On the individual side, the team was led by Carter who finished as the 33rd overall performer out of 122 students. Sophie had a strong day finishing 57th, and the tournament featured strong performances from the rest of the team.
Two teams won in the first round of playoffs and qualified for nationals by advancing to at least the quarter-final round. Congratulations Greenhill D and Greenhill B on this achievement!

The Upper School team finished 3-4 and lost in the first round of the playoffs to Coppell, the eventual tournament runner up. They came within two questions of upsetting them. With two questions to go, the score was 330 to 310. Despite their loss, Nikky finished as the 3rd ranked player out of 130!
We are proud of these amazing students!
