MS Quiz Bowl Team Claims Big Tex Championship

Greenhill's Middle School "A" Team captured the 2020 Big Tex Quiz Bowl Virtual Tournament this past weekend.
In the finals, Greenhill's "A" Team - which entered as the top-seed in the tournament - defeated the 11th-seed Greenhill's "B" Team in an All-Hornet final round. The "A" Team won by a 455-160 score to claim the championship. In order to advance to the championship round, both teams captured their semi-final match-ups on the final question. The "A" Team defeated T.H. Rogers by a 315-295 score while the "B" Team handed the third-seeded Beckendorff a 180-170 setback. Both teams will compete at the national tournament in the spring.
In addition, Greenhill's "C" Team reached the quarterfinal round of the tournament and earned a spot in the national tournament. Greenhill fielded two other teams in the tournament with both posting strong performances.

In the Elementary bracket, Greenhill's "F" and "G" Teams earned a spot in the semifinals where both teams dropped decisions to Annunciation Orthodox teams.
