Students Organize Protest for Social Justice

We applaud the efforts of rising senior Clarissa Smith, and rising juniors Lily McArdle and Ari Appel who organized fellow students in a peaceful demonstration yesterday, Wednesday, June 10, around the outskirts of Greenhill’s campus. All students wore masks and practiced proper social distancing.

When rallying her peers, Clarissa said, “In light of the many gatherings around the world to speak up for justice, it is now our turn to take action. As a Greenhill student myself, I am very familiar with my peers' ability to make change. By showing our solidarity as a community I truly believe we can do just that.

The demonstration, comprised of Upper School students, was a great showing of support for the national cause. The group began at Hornet Road entrance and marched to the corner of Spring Valley and Midway.

Clarissa ended by emphasizing, “It is no longer enough to be compassionate. You must act.”
