Greenhill Alum & NFL Author Celebrates Book Release
Acclaimed NFL journalist and Greenhill alum John Eisenberg '75 will be celebrating the release of his newest book THE LEAGUE: How Five Rivals Created the NFL and Launched a Sports Empire.
The Greenhill community is invited to Interabang Books on Friday, October 4, from 5:30 - 7:00 pm for a Presentation, Q&A session, and Book Signing. Interabang Books is located in the Preston Royal Shopping Center (10720 Preston Road, Suite 1009B, Dallas, Texas 75230). If you are interested in attending, please RSVP to Cindy Birne or Greg Giller.
An author of 10 books, Eisenberg uncovers a riveting story from the early days of the NFL that has yet to be told until today, which marks the league's 100th Anniversary. Eisenberg illuminates the little-known story of the NFL's humble beginnings, and how the five founders - Art Rooney, George Halas, Tim Mara, George Preston Marshall, and Bert Bell - battled in poverty for decades to create a league that would end up dominating the American sports scene.
Eisenberg is a former Baltimore Sun sports writer and has also contributed to Sports Illustrated and Smithsonian Magazine. The former Greenhill alum has also authored The First Season and Ten-Gallon War. For more information on Eisenberg, please visit www.johneisenberg.com and follow him on Twitter @bmoreeisenberg.
