Students enroll in Extended Day for the year. Payment is made in nine (9) monthly installments from September through May and is due on the first of each month. Tuition will not be reimbursed for absences. Once the application is approved, you will be sent a confirmation of enrollment in the program. Priority is given to students requesting the full-time option of 4 or 5 days per week and then to current Extended Day students. Enrollment is subject to availability.
Arrival & Departure
It is our responsibility to know where all the Extended Day children are after school. If a child does not check into Extended Day after school, the director immediately checks the school office, special activity forms, and then calls the parents. If your child is scheduled to attend Extended Day and will not be there for any reason, please call the Extended Day office and leave a message before 2:00 p.m.
When a child is picked up from the Extended Day Program, the parent or other authorized person signs the child out by writing in the time and signing the sign-out sheet. Persons other than parents who are authorized to pick up the child are listed on the child's registration form. Your child will not be released if someone other than the authorized person comes to pick up the child unless we have received a call or note from home. Children who have signed in, but not signed out will be charged for the full day until 6:00 p.m., regardless of the program in which they are enrolled. If a parent picks up a ½ day child after 4:45 p.m., they will be charged an additional $20.00 for the specific date, and be billed at the end of the month.
Late Pick-up Fee
Please remember that the deadline for pick up is 6:00 p.m. Abuse of this policy is taken very seriously. If you are late for this deadline, you will be charged a $2.00 per minute per child for each minute after 6:00 p.m. This charge will be billed on the next statement. Failure by a parent or authorized person to pick up the child by 6:00 p.m. deadline more than three (3) times in one school year will result in the removal of the student from the Extended Day Program. A call from the parent letting us know they will be late will help ease any anxieties your child and the teacher on duty may have, but does not excuse the late fee charge.
After online registration closes on July 26th, changes in your child's schedule will be accepted between the 1st and 10th of each month. You will be allowed to change a student's schedule two times in a school year without a penalty being assessed a charge. After the second change, Extended Day will charge you the higher of the three schedule changes. You may make schedule changes by coming into the Extended Day office and completing a "Change of Schedule" form. We will not be able to accept changes by phone or e-mail.
After online registration closes on July 26th, if a parent wishes to drop a student from the program for any reason a "Drop Policy" form must be filled out and submitted to the Extended Day office no later than the 10th of the month prior to dropping. A $100 drop fee will automatically be applied and billed on the next statement. Any drops received after the 10th will result in the next month's fee being assessed. Re-enrollment will depend on availability. A reinstatement fee of $100 will need to accompany the form for re-enrollment.
Children must be signed out of Extended Day by the instructor for any extracurricular activities such as music lessons, scouts, and/or team sports. A “Special Activities” form should be filled out if a child will be attending any extra-curricular activity during their Extended Day time with us.
If your child becomes sick at Extended Day, an Extended Day teacher will call the parents and request that your child be picked up immediately. Children must be free of fever for 24 hours before returning to the Extended Day Program. It is expected that children who are well enough to attend school are well enough to go outside at Extended Day.
All medications must go through the school nurse. Only during Holiday Care days will an Extended Day staff member give medication. All medications must be registered in the Extended Day medication log each Holiday Care day with specific instructions. Also, medication must be in its original bottle.
Nutritious snacks of fresh fruit, popcorn, crackers, cookies and juices will be served.
Because Extended Day is designed for parents who need coverage for their children throughout the year, (pending availability) only children whose families are having an emergency will be considered for drop-in care. This is a case-by-case basis.
Children may be enrolled in Extended Day by the year or by the month. Monthly tuition is due on the first of each month. Tuition will not be reimbursed for absences. Students may be enrolled in one or more of the programs from one to five days a week. Once the application is received, you will be sent a confirmation letter of enrollment in the program. Enrollment is subject to availability.
Holiday Care allows parents to enroll their children in a full or half day Extended Day program within familiar surroundings of school. Special activities are scheduled, which include the occasional field trip away from school. Although snacks will be served during the day, children must bring their own lunches. Holiday Care is only offered to Greenhill students that are currently enrolled in the Extended Day program. Parents must walk in and sign in their student.
Holiday Care registration is performed online in the MyBackPack system and closes one week before the Holiday Care date. Once the class is pulled from the online list of available classes we will be unable to accept registrations or remove your child from the Holiday Care class.
