The Greenhill athletics program prepares our student-athletes to represent our core values of excellence, integrity, compassion, and courage each day. In addition, the department works with each athlete to instill a sense of competitiveness, strong work ethic, mental toughness, teamwork, grit, and commitment. Together, these values create a cohort of athletes who strive to compete for championships.
Hornet Sports Association

The Hornet Sports Association (HSA) puts skill development and having fun at the forefront for our prekindergarten through sixth-grade students. While cultivating a love of sports, students learn fundamentals and skills and play on a team with their friends.

SPOTLIGHT: ATHLETIC SUCCESSES

Greenhill teams have earned Southwest Preparatory Conference titles and recognition, and many of our student-athletes continue to compete at the collegiate level. Our community supports and encourages our students while they are playing as a Hornet and beyond.

At Greenhill, athletics is about excellence at every level: 62 interscholastic teams, more than 100 conference and state titles, a robust physical education program, coaches who are certified trainers and nutritionists.

A whirlwind
tour of athletic facilities

GINSBURG NATATORIUM
The Ginsburg Natatorium is a six-lane swimming pool. Students in first through sixth grade take swimming as a PE rotation.

PHILLIPS FAMILY ATHLETIC CENTER
The Phillips Family Athletic Center includes the Philips Gym, Cox Gym, the Ginsburg Natatorium, the Tom Perryman Alumni Center (TPAC), the High Performance Center, and Adventure Room. The building originally opened in the mid-1990s and was named for Dan & Merlene Phillips.

ADVENTURE ROOM
The Adventure Room includes a climbing wall and padded floors and is ideal for indoor sports training.

HIGH PERFORMANCE CENTER
The High Performance Center helps athletes prepare for competition.

DEASON FAMILY TENNIS CENTER
The Deason Family Tennis Center includes 10 lighted tennis courts and a pro shop. 

JJJ FRANKEL FIELD AND JENNIFER GOODNIGHT MAALOUF '86 FIELD
Maalouf and Frankel Fields are regulation-sized soccer fields on the corner of Spring Valley and Midway Roads.

BRINKMANN FIELD
Brinkmann Field is Greenhill's main football field with stadium bleachers.

WILLIAM A. SHIRLEY FAMILY TRACK
The William A. Shirley Family Track is an eight-lane track that was renovated and resurfaced in 2019. 

COX GYMNASIUM
The Cox Gymnasium is a full-sized gym, available for basketball, volleyball, and other sports activities. The space was the first athletics space at Greenhill, originally opening in 1969.

BASEBALL AND SOFTBALL FIELD
Greenhill has both a baseball and softball field, as well as indoor batting cages for training.

Greenhill has hosted one of the longest-standing cross country meets in Texas: Greenhill/Luke's Locker 6-Mile Relay. Learn more here.
