Join the Fulton Society and Leave a Legacy

In 1950, Bernard and Helen Fulton were inspired to create a school with a vibrant learning environment, nurturing faculty and student relationships, and a welcoming, inclusive community. The Fulton Society, named for these inspirational founders, helps to ensure that a Greenhill education will be available to students for generations to come.
The Fulton Society recognizes those individuals who reinforce Greenhill’s legacy by naming the School as a beneficiary of their estate and gift plans. There are many vehicles which may benefit you and your family while providing vital support for the school.
If you have already made a provision for Greenhill in your Will or by other planned gift, we hope you will join the distinguished group of supporters of Greenhill who are members of The Fulton Society.
We welcome the opportunity to talk with you about your Greenhill experiences and about your support for the School, now or in the future. Please contact Diana Kao, Director of Major Gifts, at (972) 628-5683.

Gifts to Provide a Future Benefit to Greenhill

Wills & Living Trusts: Include Greenhill in your Will or Trust by designating a specific dollar amount or percentage of assets to the School. Your gift benefits Greenhill after your death and doesn’t impact current your cash flow. You will receive a deduction on estate taxes and help to secure Greenhill’s future.
Beneficiary Designations: Name Greenhill as a beneficiary of your IRA, 401(K), or other qualified retirement plan. If left to other heirs, these assets are subject to income and estate taxes but designating Greenhill as beneficiary avoids taxes. During your lifetime, you have full use of the funds.
You can also name Greenhill as beneficiary of a life insurance policy, allowing you flexibility during lifetime and reducing taxes at death while providing important support for Greenhill’s future.

Gifts that Provide Income & Charitable Gift

Charitable Gift Annuities: Make a gift to Greenhill and receive fixed payments for life, a charitable deduction, and partially tax-free income. Setting up an annuity allows you to support the work of the School while maintaining financial security for the annuitant during life.
Charitable Remainder Trusts: Charitable remainder trusts allow donors to make a significant gift of cash, securities or other property to the trust, and receive reliable payments for life. Gifts to a qualified charitable trust provides the donor and income tax deduction and avoids capital gains tax on the transfer of the asset. When the trust terminates, the remainder is directed to Greenhill.
Charitable Lead Trusts: Establish a trust that pays either a fixed or variable amount to Greenhill each year for a set period of time. At the end of that period, the trust balance returns to the donor or other beneficiary. This option allows you to support Greenhill with regular payments while benefitting you or your family when the trust terminates.

Other Ways to Give to Greenhill for Immediate Impact

Gifts of Appreciated Stock: Transfer stock that has appreciated in value to Greenhill and receive an income tax deduction for the fair market value of the securities and pay no capital gains tax.
Qualified IRA Distribution (“Rollover”): If you are 70 1/2 or older may give up to $100,000 from your IRA each year to a public charity such as Greenhill. Taking advantage of this option counts toward the minimum withdrawal requirement from your account each year and may reduce your taxable income.
Gifts of Life Insurance: Transfer ownership of a paid-up life insurance policy and potentially receive an immediate income tax deduction based on the value of the policy at the time of transfer.
Donor Advised Funds: Contribute to a tax-exempt fund at a sponsoring organization such as a community foundation, then recommend contributions to Greenhill whenever you wish. You will receive an income tax deduction when you contribute to the Donor Advised Fund and have the flexibility to support charities of your choice, in an easy, cost-effective way.
