Hornets Ready for SPC Championships

Good luck to our varsity teams as they compete in the 2026 Fall SPC Championships in Dallas on November 5-7. View the SPC brackets to keep up with the action.

The excitement of SPC Championship season has arrived, and this year the action is coming to Greenhill. Beginning tomorrow, Greenhill will welcome teams, families, and fans from across the Southwest Preparatory Conference as the School hosts both the field hockey and girls volleyball championships, creating a special opportunity for student-athletes to compete for conference titles on their home campus.

Greenhill's girls volleyball team enters the SPC Tournament as the No. 1 seed after an outstanding regular season. Their hard work, consistency, and team-first mindset have propelled them to one of the program's strongest seasons in recent memory, and they now have the opportunity to pursue a conference championship in front of a home crowd. The boys volleyball team has also enjoyed an exciting season and will look to finish strong as postseason competition begins.

On the field hockey pitch, Greenhill has shown remarkable growth throughout the fall. The team has continued to build on last year's foundation, demonstrating determination and resilience against a competitive schedule. The Hornets will open tournament play at Hockaday and hope to return to Greenhill for the second round as they compete in the 4A bracket.

Greenhill's boys and girls cross country teams are also preparing for their SPC championship meets after strong seasons marked by dedication, perseverance, and steady improvement. Both teams are eager to cap off the year with their best performances of the season when they take the starting line at the conference meet.

The fall season has also been highlighted by the efforts of the football team, which demonstrated exceptional grit in the face of challenges. Despite competing with one of the program's smallest rosters in recent years and navigating injuries throughout the season, the Hornets battled every week and finished with a 4-5 record. While the results tell only part of the story, the team's toughness, commitment, and competitive spirit were evident all season long.

Greenhill's success this fall extends beyond the varsity level. JV and Middle School student-athletes have continued to develop their skills, enthusiasm, and love of competition, creating a strong foundation for the future of Hornet athletics.

As championship competition begins, the Greenhill community has a unique opportunity to support its student-athletes. With SPC field hockey and girls volleyball championships taking place on campus, fans are encouraged to fill the stands and create an energetic home atmosphere as the Hornets compete for conference titles.

Those unable to attend can follow along on Greenhill Athletics Instagram for updates and highlights from the championships.
