Application Process

List of 8 items.

  • + Submit your Application Form and Fee

Submit your online application, including the $100 non-refundable application fee, by January 5, 2024. If fees for your application present a hardship for your family, please contact our Director of Financial Aid, Amy deBorst.
  • + Complete the Parent/Guardian Questionnaire

The Admission Committee is interested in learning more about your child and family, and understanding what brought you to Greenhill. Please complete this form by January 5, 2024.
  • + Complete the Interview and Visit Form

Please complete the Interview and Visit Form by January 5, 2024, to indicate your interest in either a student shadow visit and interview or an interview only. We prefer the applicant complete the interest section of the form.

Interview are required for all fifth – eleventh grade applicants. A student shadow visit is encouraged but not required for those students who are applying to fifth grade, ninth grade, or who are applying to Greenhill for the first time. Please note: Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate repeat shadow visits for those applicants who have previously visited the Middle School or Upper School. However, do do look forward to scheduling your student for their required interview.
  • + Complete the Student Questionnaire

We look forward to getting to know the applicant better and this form should be completed by the applicant in their own words.
  • + Register for ISEE Testing

All applicants to fifth – eleventh grade must register for the Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE) by January 26, 2024, and complete testing by February 3, 2024. The ISEE is a standardized test offered nationally. Applicants to Greenhill may test in person at Greenhill, test at another school, or use the at-home test option.

Students only need to take the ISEE once and the results will be sent to the schools you designate when you register. Please visit the ISEE website here for details, testing options, and a quick fact guide about what to expect on the ISEE. Registering for the ISEE exam should be completed at least three weeks prior to the actual test date. If the testing fee presents a hardship for your family, please reach out to Amy deBorst, Director of Financial Aid.
  • + Request Transcripts/Grades/Progress Reports

Once you have submitted your Application Form and after December 1, you will have access to the Transcript/Grades/Progress Reports request within your parent portal checklist. The request form will not be accessible before December 1 to ensure that the request is not made to the school too early. We want to have records that include the most up-to-date progress reports prior to our January 26, 2024, deadline.

The request form will ask for the name and email address of the person at your child’s current school who is responsible for sending transcripts, grades, or progress reports. They will receive an email that contains a link to submit the documents directly to Greenhill. If your school does not have transcripts, grades, or progress reports, they can indicate that when they open the request link.
  • + Request English and Math Teacher Evaluations

Once you have submitted your Application Form and after December 1, you will have access to the English and Math Teacher Evaluation requests within your parent portal checklist. The request forms will not be accessible before December 1 to ensure that the form is not given to the teacher before they have time to get to know your student.

You will be asked to enter your child’s teacher’s name and email address on the request form, and they will receive an electronic, confidential Teacher Evaluation Form to complete and submit. The teacher will be able to fill out the form electronically and send it back to us within our system. It is a good idea to let the teachers know ahead of time to expect the request. The deadline for the receipt of the confidential forms by Greenhill School is January 26, 2024.

Note: if your child has the same teacher for English and Math or if one teacher declines to complete an evaluation form, you should consult with the admission office to determine next steps.
  • + Apply for Financial Aid (Optional)

If you are considering applying for financial aid, please indicate that by completing the Financial Aid Form in the “Optional Steps” section of your application checklist in the parent portal. You must complete the full Financial Aid Application by February 15, 2024. Families of admitted students who apply by the deadline will receive their financial aid grant at the same time as their admission decision, on March 8, 2024.

While we are able to accept Financial Aid applications after the deadline, we can not guarantee that funds will remain available. If you have any questions about financial aid, please contact Director of Financial Aid Amy deBorst at 972-628-5522.
