Athletics Weekly Wrap-Up: October 11-17

Stay up to date with Greenhill Athletics through weekly recaps featuring results, highlights, and achievements from our student-athletes.

We did not have many games last week, but we are proud of our student-athletes for how well they competed.

Field Hockey
The girls had a tough matchup on Friday against a very skilled Kinkaid team. They played well but came up short. On Saturday, the team was missing quite a few girls due to ACT and Debate, but two JV girls, Zayla Yousuf and Shriya Jayaram, came to the rescue at the last minute so they could have enough players. Zayla is actually a goalie, but she still showed up to play on the field where they needed her!

Boys Volleyball
The boys lost a tough one to St. Mark’s. After winning the first game, St. Mark’s won the next three. We hope to get a chance to play them again in SPC.

Girls Volleyball
The girls won both of their conference games against Kinkaid and Awty. Adrienne Akintola really stepped up with some great blocks and hitting. Madi Milam, the team’s beloved freshman, had an opportunity to play and played extremely well! The hitters were put in a great position by the excellent setting of Jada Fleming, Lola Sagoe, and Dara Sagoe, who all set very well. It is not common that defensive players get a chance to put a ball down and get a kill, but both Molly Wilkofsky and London Kuntz got their first kill this season!
