What a great and exciting Homecoming week for our students and student-athletes. A huge shoutout to the following people for making this week so special.
- Javi Johnson, Noora Qureshi, Soraya Sachdeva, and Eli Yaffe ran a great Pep Rally. They did such a great job of making it about all of you, our teams, and having great spirit.
- Our Cheer team for an outstanding performance, which included excellent tumbling led by Eliza Hark and Isabela Davidsohn.
- Our Drumline and the amazing upside performance from Rohan Chilakapati, held by Vishaal Gaitonde.
- Best Green and Gold Costume: Charlie Grace with his Green and Gold Overalls.
- The Primers for walking our Homecoming court.
- Coach Deibert, Coach Williams, and Coach Rortvedt made the Turnabout games go so smoothly. The energy and spirit in the gym during Turnabout was so fun.
- Football Turnabout MVPs: Offensive MVP Sidrah Tarpeh, with her two-year perforis up for greatest Turnabout football player in school history! Defensive MVP: Julia Deibert, with an interception and a pass deflection on 4th down.
- Volleyball Turnabout MVP: Runner-ups Eli Simms and Lucas Marrero. The MVP award goes to Philip Turner for his excellent performance dominating at the net.
- Our facilities members, Zach Stephens and Taylor Patzig, for their incredible job of making our football field the most beautiful in SPC!
Cross Country
The team battled tough rain conditions while running on the St. Mark’s School of Texas track. Some of our teams ran a 5K while others ran a 3200. Seeing our runners push themselves when they are tired and trying to hold off their opponents and surge past the runner in front of them is remarkable to watch!
Cheer
Cheer’s performance at the pep rally was great, and their performance during the football game was equally good, if not better. Thanks to our cheerleaders for their hard work to make the week so memorable.
Football
The team played their toughest opponent all season. While the result was not what they wanted, we should be proud of the boys for playing until the final whistle. We are excited to see how they respond.
Field Hockey
The girls played a very tough opponent on Friday on our new, beautiful McCutchen field. After taking a 1-0 lead, they fell in overtime, 2-1. Coach Hawkins was very pleased with how well they played, and so should our fans.
Boys Volleyball
The boys won their countergame against Fort Worth Country Day on Tuesday before falling to St. Mark’s on Friday. The good news is it was not their countergame.
Girls Volleyball
The team had only one game this week, and they made it count with a great win over Episcopal High School for their countergame. It has been a long time since we beat EHS. Big shout-out for great performances from Kellyn Lonergan and Sofia Williams, along with some of the best hitting in SPC from Sophia Deibert and Bree Carethers.
