Another exciting week of competition brought memorable moments, impressive performances, and plenty to celebrate across Greenhill Athletics.
Cross Country
The team had a very solid meet competing in their first 5k of the season – the same distance they will run in SPC. After a good week of practice, the boys ran a very mature race. The girls ran well, led by Lilly Williams, who ran a strong race, and Rachel Myhre, who had a solid performance. Our runners will look to have another good week of practice and build on this race as they compete in the Boswell Meet.
Cheer
The cheerleaders traveled to Austin to cheer on our football team. Our cheerleaders put on another great performance with their exceptional tumbling and halftime routine!
Football
The team rebounded after last week and had a dominating win against St. Stephens. This win was highlighted by another strong performance from Trey Davis, who scored for the second week in a row as he hauled in 9 catches for 151 yards and a TD. CJ Glenn had 78 yards on the ground with 3 TDs!
Field Hockey
The girls prepared all week for three tough games in Austin where they faced St. John’s, Episcopal High School, and St. Andrews. After losing to a tough St. John’s team, Greenhill rebounded with our first field hockey win in school history over Episcopal High School! They did not relax and finished the day with a shutout against St. Andrew’s. Eliana Spence and Alice Stenberg led the goal scoring with multiple goals each. Saamya Malladi, Soraya Sachdeva, and Nikita Bhasin each tallied one goal.
Boys Volleyball
The team began this week by beating DasCHE (home school) before facing a tough match against Trinity Valley, which we lost. The team will learn from tough contests and get better from playing matches like these.
Girls Volleyball
The girls had a very tough match against John Paul II early in the week. Like the rest of our teams, they rebounded well and played very well in the Prince of Peace tournament. After sweeping their pool, winning all three matches, they faced Oakridge School. We lost the first game, then dominated them in the second. In the third game, we faced a match point, tied it up, and pulled through for the victory. Greenhill then lost 1-2 to an excellent Legacy team.
