  • Q. Do you have to attend Greenhill to attend Summer on the Hill?

    No, everyone is welcome! Last year, students from 225 individual schools attended Summer on the Hill, including students from out of state and foreign countries. Students should register for the grade they are entering in the Fall 2024.
  • Q. When selecting camps, what grade do I select?

    Students should register for the grade they are entering in the Fall 2024. Primer students can select either kindergarten or first grade camps and classes.
  • Q. What time do students eat lunch?

    All students will eat lunch between 12:00 - 12:30 pm. Students have the option to purchase our weekly sack lunch for $60 per week or bring a lunch and drink from home. Microwaves and refrigeration are not available. Students enrolled in a morning camp and a different afternoon camp should register for lunch when signing up for classes and camps. All students are escorted to and from the dining hall by faculty or counselors. Students in full-day camps from 9:00 am-3:00 pm will eat with their assigned camp and teacher.

    Greenhill School is an Allergy Aware School. Summer on the Hill provides environmental controls for our summer campers which includes requesting parents not send any lunches or snacks containing nuts to campus. All campers are encouraged to wash their hands before and after lunch and before returning to the class from recess. Campers will be educated to not trade or share food, snacks, drinks, or utensils.
  • Q. Are students escorted by an adult between camps?

    All students will be escorted from one location to the other by teachers and/or counselors at all times.
  • Q. Do students need to bring their own laptops and iPads for STEM and academic classes?

    Campers are required to bring their own devices such as laptops, iPads, etc. If you are registered in a STEM/Technology camp and/or an academic class this summer, please check the camp description in our catalogs for equipment requirements. Prior to the start of each camp, we will send out additional reminders.
  • Q. Where are the Summer on the Hill and Sports Camps offices?

    The Summer on the Hill office is located in the Lower School Administration Building, Room 604. Please use the Spring Valley entrance, stay in the right-hand lane, and park in the first available parking area.

    The Sports Camps office is in the Phillips Family Athletic Building Lobby. Please use the Spring Valley entrance, stay in the far right-hand lane, and park in the parking lot next to the football field.

Extended Day Questions

  • Q. Is Summer Extended Day Care available?

    Summer on the Hill offers extended care before and after camp for students age 4 to grade 8. Children will have the opportunity to play outdoors, read, create arts and crafts, play games, and rest. All activities are supervised. A snack will be provided in the afternoon.  Extended Day is available from Week 2 - Week 11 from 7:30 - 9:00 am and 3:00 - 5:30 pm.
    • Children must be picked up by 5:30 pm.
    • Parents will be charged $2 per minute per child after 5:30 pm.
  • Q. Do you accept children younger than four years old?

    Children must be four years old on or before May 28, 2024. All children must be completely toilet trained without assistance from an adult to attend camp. Students not fully potty trained will be excused from camp without an issued refund. For more information on Extended Day, click here.
