Greenhill MS Quiz Bowl Team Wins Invitational

Twelve Greenhill Middle School Quiz Bowl teams competed at the St. Mark’s Middle School Invitational on January 13.

 

MAIN DIVISION

 

Greenhill B — Wilson Heeringa ’28, Evan Huang ’29, Connor Kim ’28, Dylan Shah ’28 — tied for third place, and Greenhill C — Ansh Gandhi ’28, Colin Houpt ’29, Ayaan Patel ’28, Tiger Zhao ’28, Rishi Kumbhani ’28, Blake Clark ’29 — tied for 5th place. Had these teams competed on the other side of the playoff bracket, Coach James Herman was confident they would have joined Greenhill A in the final match.

 

Greenhill E — Ella Bogdanow ’31, Cam Dawson ’30, Carson Yoo ’30, Casey Chon ’30 — finished tied for ninth – just outside of the “qualification” spots. This is a major achievement for a team of fifth and sixth-grade students winning against the best and brightest seventh and eighth-graders.

 

Greenhill D — Miles Hulme ’29, Ansh Verma ’29, Athena Yu ’28, Anderson Tsao ’29 — and Greenhill F — Elliot Whitten ’30, Beck Fuller ’30, Leo Garza ’30, Alex Chon ’30 — had a successful tournament competing against older students.

 

None of the teams in the main division finished below an even record during regulation, and each of the six teams earned a spot in the championship playoff – a fantastic that demonstrates the depth and dedication of Greenhill students.

 

ELEMENTARY DIVISION

Greenhill had six teams compete in the Elementary Division, each showing great leadership, collaboration, and team spirit. There were several breakout performances, including the top-finishing team of Greenhill H. Congratulations to all the students who competed in the Elementary Division:

Greenhill K: Anay Patel ’31, Arjun Shah ’31, Spencer Hanu ’31, Roman Rousseau ’31

Greenhill L: Vihaan Kumbhani ’31, Shaina Bekal ’31, Dittu Tandon ’31, Simon Weinstein ’31, Aadi Vaidya ’31
