Greenhill Announces Monsie Muñoz as Director of Equity and Inclusion

Greenhill School named Monsie Muñoz ’05 as its Director of Equity and Inclusion effective April 8, 2024.

Over this last year, Monsie has served as Greenhill’s Interim Director of Equity and Inclusion, where she demonstrated her leadership skills as she managed the Family, Student, and Employee Inclusion Councils, facilitated Greenhill’s partnership with MehtaCognition, and contributed meaningfully as a member of the Administrative Team.

Her deep knowledge of equity and inclusion practices and her understanding of Greenhill position her to have a tremendous impact as the leader of this important office. Monsie graduated from Greenhill, and she has taught in our Lower, Middle, and Upper Schools, giving her valuable insight into the Greenhill experience.

Monsie is already recognized as a national leader in equity and inclusion work and for several years has served on the faculty of the National Association of Independent School’s Student Diversity Leadership Conference. At Greenhill, she served as an equity and inclusion coordinator for three years before leaving to serve as assistant director at LITA, Inc, a company facilitating Spanish immersion programs for teens. She returned to Greenhill in the role of Assistant Director of Equity and Inclusion and was quickly promoted to Associate Director.

One faculty colleague who interviewed Monsie noted, “I am in awe of Monsie’s skills and her understanding of the work we do here. We need someone who can advance the mission of the school, and Monsie has lived our mission for decades.”

Monsie earned a B.A. from Williams College and an M.A. in Independent School Leadership from Columbia University Teachers College.
