Quiz Bowl Team Posts Top Honors at History Bee & Bowl

The Greenhill Middle School Quiz Bowl Team posted first-place honors in the Junior Varsity Division of the History Bee & Bowl this past weekend.The team - which includes Gokulan Anand '22, Vivaan Gupta '24, Nikhil Nandipati '24, Josh Rubel '22 and Johan Yaffe '22 - posted a 4-0 record in the team competition before squaring off against Plano West High School in the Varsity Division. This was the Hornets' lone setback, but gave Plano West High School their closest match of the tournament after only being down by 10 points at the end of the 2nd and 3rd quarters.Individually, Rubel and Anand finished first and third, respectively - in the Junior Varsity Division of the History Bee Competition. Rubel also finished third out of all Varsity and Junior Varsity competitors in the written geography and history exams. This season, the Greenhill Quiz Bowl team has qualified for the National History Bee Championships along with three National Quiz Bowl Championships.
