Greenhill Musicians Honored with ATSSB & TPSMEA Jazz Band Honors

Greenhill seniors Brock Bagelman and Arya Nallanthighall along with junior Deniz Evlioglu were all recognized with Jazz Band honors this past weekend.The Greenhill Upper School musicians were honored with Association of Texas Small School Bands (ATSSB) All-Region and All-Area Jazz Band laurels, which is selected among students in public and private schools in the Dallas area. The All-Region Jazz Band will perform for the public on Tuesday, November 14th, in Rose Hall in The Marshall Family Performing Arts Center. Evlioglu - 1st Chair Bass TromboneNallanthighall was also selected to the ATSSB All-State Jazz Band and will serve as the 1st Chair Tenor Sax for the second consecutive year. The Greenhill senior is the only member of the ATSSB All-State Jazz Band selected from a private school. Over the past few years, Greenhill has had more students selected to the ATSSB All-State Jazz Band than any other private school, and Nallanthighall will perform with the All-State Jazz Band in February in San Antonio.In addition, Nallanthighall and Bagelman were honored with Texas Private School Music Educators Association (TPSMEA) All-State Jazz Band honors where each will Chair their respective musical instruments. The Greenhill seniors will perform in a concert with other TPSMEA All-State Jazz Band members in January.
