Hornet Sports Report - September 18, 2017

Football
The Greenhill football program improved to 2-1 on the season after defeating Oakridge School, 27-26, on the road on Friday evening.
 
Senior Jake Webster completed 14-of-25 passes for 164 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Hornets' air attack. Kassidy Woods was the recipient of two of those touchdowns as the Greenhill senior finished with seven catches for 73 yards. Senior Xavier Bryant caught a 10-yard touchdown pass in the second quarter and finished with six catches for 64 yards.
 
Running back DaRon Hall finished with a career-high 66 yards on 15 attempts, including a 36-yard touchdown run in the first quarter to give the Hornets an early 7-0 lead.
 
Girls Volleyball
The Greenhill girls volleyball team fell to 4-13 on the season following a 3-0 setback (25-17, 25-15, 25-18) to Hockaday School on Friday afternoon.
 
Senior Jessica Pugh finished with four kills, seven digs and one service ace to lead the Hornets while senior Allie Frymire dished out eight assists to go along with three digs, two service aces and one dig. Sola Omonije finished with four kills and Arfa Chowdhary posted seven digs in the contest.
 
Field Hockey
The Greenhill field hockey team recorded a split over the weekend in road contests and currently stand at 4-2 on the season. The Hornets suffered a 2-0 setback at St. John's School on Friday evening then rebounded to defeat Kinkaid School, 2-1, on Saturday afternoon.
 
Cross Country
The Greenhill girls cross country team finished fourth overall while the boys' team placed 10th at the Flower Mound Invitational on Saturday.
 
Kaitlin Ness led the girls' team with a third-place finish while teammate Maddie Hatfield finished 14th overall. On the boys' side, junior Jacob Shepherd finished with a 10th-place showing to pace the Hornets.
