Hornets Finish Fifth at National High School All-American Tournament

The Greenhill boys tennis team finished fifth overall at the National High School All-American Tournament this past weekend in Newport Beach, CA. The invitation-only tournament is one of the most prestigious high school tennis competitions in the country, and draws the very best teams from the West Coast - mainly large California publich schools with powerhouse tennis traditions.

The Hornets posted a 3-1 record at the National High School All-American Tournament where they defeated University High School (Irvine, CA), 5-3, in the first round. In the second round, the Hornets fell to Palisades Charter High School (Pacific Palisades, CA) by a 6-2 score. Palisades Charter High School was the top-ranked schools in the tournament and captured the tournament title, but its closest match came against the Hornets. The Hornets rebounded on Saturday with a pair of 6-2 victories over San Marino High School (San Marino, CA) and Arcadia High School (Arcadia, CA).

The Hornets are currently 7-1 on the season, including a 4-0 record in SPC Counter action.
