Greenhill Student-Athletes Sign National Letters of Intent

Greenhill seniors Jernaya Sharp and Danielle Milner each signed a National Letter of Intent to continue their athletic careers at the collegiate level during a ceremony on Thursday morning in the Upper School Lecture Hall.

One of the top sprinters in the State of Texas, Sharp signed a National Letter of Intent to continue her track career at the University of Notre Dame. The Greenhill senior was a three-time conference champion during the 2015 season where she won the 100-meter dash, 100-meter hurdles and long jump. This past season, Sharp earned all-conference accolades in six events (100-meter dash, 100-meter hurdles, long jump, triple jump, 4x100-meter relay and 4x400-meter relay) and earned 17 all-conference awards total during her track and field career.

A holder of three Greenhill track records, Sharp earned an invitation to compete at the Texas Meet of Champions where she was pitted against all conference champions from around the state. Sharp finished second overall in the 100-meter dash and long jump as well as fourth in the 100-meter hurdles. Sharp currently holds the Southwest Preparatory Conference record with a time of 11.96 in the 100-meter dash. Sharp will be a member of a Fighting Irish squad that finished 13th overall at the 2015 NCAA Outdoor Championships - the highest finish for the program - under head coach Alan Turner and sprints coach Pristina Jones.

A four-year starter for the Hornets, Milner inked a national commitment to continue her volleyball career at Bentley University, a member of the Northeast-10 Conference. The Greenhill senior was a two-time All-Southwest Preparatory Conference selection and led the Hornets to their first conference crown since 2005 during the 2015 season. This past season, Milner guided the Hornets to a 35-6 overall record to go along with a perfect mark in SPC Counter action. Milner helped the Hornets to a 109-40 overall record (.732 winning percentage) during her prep career for head coach Tatiane Deibert.

Milner was ranked as the 51st-best player in the State of Texas to go along with the 286th-ranked player in the nation during the 2015-16 season according to MaxPreps. In addition to her career at Greenhill, Milner was a member of an Excel Volleyball Club Team that was ranked as high as 11th in the region under head coach Sean Smith. The Greenhill senior will join a Bentley University women's volleyball program that is currently 17-9 overall, including a 10-3 record in conference action for head coach Joey Pacis.
