Greenhill Students Selected for Lone Star Leadership Academy

Greenhill students Brooke Lynn Ramsey ’29 and Isabel Evans ’29 were recently selected to participate in a summer 2023 Lone Star Leadership Academy camp.

Their selection was based on their outstanding academic success, demonstrated leadership ability, involvement in school and community activities, and nomination by their teacher — Brook Lynn, nominated by Xiaoling Zhang, and Isabel, nominated by Kathryn Koshkin.

The students will travel to the Austin/San Antonio area to join other students across the state to develop leadership skills while learning about Texas and its leaders. They will visit significant sites including the LBJ Library and Museum, the Alamo, Texas State Cemetery, state legislators' offices at the Texas State Capitol, the Supreme Court of Texas, the Witte Museum, and The Meadows Center for Water and the Environment.

Education in Action, a non-profit organization, hosts Lone Star Leadership Academy camps to empower young people to be informed and active leaders in their communities. Texas educators facilitate Lone Star Leadership Academy camps including leadership groups where participants examine qualities of effective leaders, practice leadership skills, and discuss what they learn at sites visited.
