Greenhill Mourns Georgie Fulton Green ’53

Greenhill mourns Georgie Fulton Green ’53 who passed away on December 22, 2022. Georgie was the daughter of Greenhill founders Bernard and Helen Fulton and the sister of Will Fulton ’68, John Fulton ’71, and Life Trustee Molly Fulton Seeligson ’60. A lifelong Hornet, Georgie met her husband John while both were attending Greenhill; they were married for 65 years.

Georgie was known for many outstanding accomplishments in her life, including as an educational pioneer and an ardent champion of students with learning differences, especially dyslexia. She followed in the footsteps of her educator parents and became a leading educator and trainer of academic language therapists. She helped develop curricula, teacher training courses, and training centers across the country. She was also one of three original incorporators of the June Shelton School of Dallas, and she played an active role in the Texas State Legislature, working to help pass “the dyslexia law,” which required schools to screen and treat students with dyslexia.

You can find more information about Georgie here, including information about a celebration of her life that will take place later in January.
