Greenhill Seniors Earn National Merit Scholarship Honors

Six Greenhill seniors received the distinct honor of qualifying as Semifinalists in the 68th Annual National Merit Scholarship Program while 16 others were named Commended Students.

There were approximately 16,000 Semifinalists that have an opportunity to continue in the competition for some 7,250 National Merit Scholarships worth nearly $28 million offered in the spring.

To be considered for a Merit Scholarship award, Semifinalists must fulfill several requirements to advance to the Finalist level. About 95 percent are expected to attain Finalist standing, and approximately half of the Finalists will win a National Merit Scholarship, earning the Merit Scholar title. National Merit Scholarship winners will be announced beginning in April and concluding in July.
