Greenhill Senior Announced as Winner of Davey O'Brien High School Scholarship Award

Greenhill senior Lane Herbert was announced as the winner of the 35th Annual Davey O'Brien High School Scholarship Award and will receive a $30,000 scholarship. Herbert became the first Greenhill student-athlete to capture this honor since current Board Chair Holland P. Gary won the honor in 1993.

Herbert is a four-year letterwinner in both field hockey and lacrosse while carrying a 3.84 GPA. The Greenhill senior recently committed to Northwestern University in field hockey. A four-year starter for the Hornets, Herbert earned All-American honors during her junior season to go along with All-Southwest Preparatory Conference laurels. Herbert has been a member of the Student Council for four years and has served as executive editor along with the first sole female sports editor for The Evergreen, Greenhill's student newspaper.

Herbert, who will be honored virtually on February 15, was chosen on the basis of her scholastic achievements, community service, character, leadership, and varsity sports participation. The Foundation has distributed over $1.2 million in scholarships and university grants to help high school and college athletes transform leadership on the field to leadership in life.
