Debate Finishes Strong at Greenhill Round Robin and Fall Classic

The Greenhill Debate Team had another successful weekend, this time on their home turf as part of the Greenhill Round Robin and Fall Classic. This past weekend, 822 students from 104 schools spanning 22 states were on the Greenhill campus for the five-day tournament.
 
WORLD SCHOOLS DEBATE
The World Schools Debate competition was one of the toughest events during the Classic as it featured teams from eight states, whose members comprised the USA Debate Team. The team of sisters Nicole '20, Aimee '22, and Natalie Stachowiak '24 advanced to the top-eight of the event. Nicole Stachowiak won the fifth-place Speaker Award. In addition, the team of Caroline Greenstone '22, Jothi Gupta '22, Ashton Higgins '22, and Ashley Shan '22 also placed in the top-eight of the tournament. Cameron Kettles '22 earned a berth in the quarterfinals with the USA Development Team.
 
LINCOLN DOUGLAS DEBATE
In Lincoln Douglas Debate, Anais Zhang '20 finished third overall in the Greenhill Round Robin, which pitted 16 of the best Lincoln Douglas Debaters in the country against one another. Krutin Devesh '21 posted a strong tournament performance, defeating some of the top students in the field.
