Greenhill Quiz Bowl Team Places Fifth at National Championships

The Greenhill Quiz Bowl Team finished fifth overall at the Small School High School National Championships this past weekend in Chicago. This was the first time that Greenhill has earned a trophy at the National High School Tournament.
 
Greenhill's "A" Team, which consisted of freshmen Gokulan Anand, Jude Griffin, Josh Rubel, and Shruti Siva along with sophomore Daniel Rothstein, posted a 6-4 record during the preliminary rounds in order to qualify for the playoffs. In the playoff rounds, the Upper School students defeated St. Mark's School of Texas, St. Andrew's Episcopal School, BASIS Independent McLean, and Latin School "A" with a lone defeat to Green Farms Academy. Greenhill fell to High Tech High School from New Jersey to finish fifth overall at the tournament. Greenhill's "B" Team, which consisted of Azal Amer, Ravi Ingle, Nikhil Nandipati, and Gabriel Patel, posted a 4-6 record in the preliminary rounds.
 
At the end of the tournament, Greenhill had three students ranked in the top-51 out of 342 students competiting in Nandipati (18th), Anand (36th), and Siva (51st).
