Greenhill Debate Ranked First in the Nation

The Greenhill Debate Team continues to have an incredible season at the midway point of the 2018-19 campaign. Currently, Greenhill is ranked first nationally in both Policy Debate and Lincoln Douglas Debate, which is the second time in program history that both teams are ranked first in the country (the last time was 2012).

In Policy Debate, the team of Chris Eckert '19 and Samar Ahmad '19 were the unanimous number-one ranked team after winning three of the last four major "Octofinal" Level tournaments, including The Glenbrooks Speech & Debate Tournament, The Blake School Tournament, and Montgomery Bell Academy Tournament. This past weekend, the Greenhill seniors were semifinalists at the prestigious Barkley Forum for High Schools Tournament in Atlanta, Ga.

In Lincoln Douglas Debate, Anna Myers '19 is the top-ranked debater in the country while teammate Mihir Rai '19 is currently ranked second in the nation. Myers was crowned champion at the Barkley Forum for High Schools Tournament and runner-up at the Harvard Westlake Invitational in back-to-back weekends. At the Barkley Forum for High Schools Tournament, Greenhill had three students reach the quarterfinals in Myers, Rai, and Brian Zhou '19.

Congratulations to the Debate Team for all of their success this season!
