Debate Team Kicks-Off Season in Stellar Fashion

The Greenhill Debate Team kicked-off the 2018-19 season with a stellar showing at the Plano Senior/Clark High School Swing this past weekend in Plano.In the World Schools Debate event, the team of Mishael Khan '19, Christine Wu '19, Nicole Stachowiak '20, and Ashley Shan '22 finished first overall at the Clark High School Tournament and second at the Plano Senior High School Tournament. In addition, the five-member squad of Joshua Timmons '21, Caroline Greenstone '22, Jothi Gupta '22, Cameron Kettles '22, and Aimee Stachowiak '22 finished first at the Plano Senior High School Tournament to go along with a third-place showing at the Clark High School Tournament.In Policy Debate, Anagha Gouru '21 and Sheena Kwon '22 finished third overall in both tournaments. At the Clark High School Tournament, Gouru was selected as the Top Individual Speaker in this event.Junior Anais Zhang reached the quarterfinals in Lincoln Douglas Debate at the Plano Senior High School Tournament.In the Poetry event, Timmons earned first-place honors at the Clark High School Tournament.
