Middle School Debate Team Finishes Second at 2018 NSDA Nationals

The Greenhill Middle School Debate Team finished second overall in World Schools Debate event at the 2018 National Speech & Debate Association Nationals on June 22 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The tournament consisted of 166 schools from across the country along with teams from China, Korea and Taiwan and featured 17 different events.The Greenhill Debate Team - which consisted of Caroline Greenstone '22, Jothi Gupta '22, Cameron Kettles '22 and Aimee Stachowiak '22 - defeated several American teams before losing in the final round by a 3-2 split decision to the top-ranked Middle School team from China. The team was coached by Aaron and Cindi Timmons, who are also coaches for the USA Debate Team.
