Remote Learning Extended to May + Important Survey

Greenhill Families,

We have officially finished our first full week of remote learning. Transitioning Greenhill's rich PK-12 educational experience to an online model was a herculean task, but with your help and the diligence of our faculty, we have implemented a program that strives to fulfill our mission of educating a diverse community of learners. Hopefully, our remote learning program is engaging your children in developmentally appropriate ways and enabling them to continue learning despite the uncertainty we all face.

We heard from many of you during our roll out last week. Thank you for your notes of praise and suggestions for improvement. I assure you we are listening, and all four of our divisional programs are currently making adjustments to improve the student and family experience.

To continue to improve our remote learning program, please complete this short survey by Friday, April 3 at 10:00 am. It should take you less than ten minutes to complete, and it will offer us valuable insights as we continue to enhance our program in the weeks ahead. If you have children in multiple divisions, please complete the survey once for each division.

Also, many of you are likely aware of Governor Abbott's announcement yesterday in which he ordered all Texas schools to remain closed through May 4. As a result, Greenhill is officially extending our remote learning program until May 4. In addition, the administrative team has canceled all non-athletic student activities that require travel through May 30. A decision about the athletic season will be issued by the SPC on April 3.

This news is difficult to share because it means that we will have more schedule adjustments and event cancellations in the weeks ahead, which I know is disappointing to all of us. We are working through the details of this extended closure, and we will have more information for you later this week. Please continue to reference our coronavirus webpage for helpful resources.

Our ongoing partnership is vital to the continued success of our remote learning program. I'd like to extend my deepest thanks to our faculty, who are developing new ways to teach content; to our students for understanding that their teachers are learning right alongside them; and to you, our families, for graciously and generously supporting us all as we navigate these unchartered waters.

My best,
