Nationally-renowned educator, researcher, consultant, and speaker, Rosetta Lee will share her insights and best practices on how to have courageous conversations about race. Talking about topics like race and oppression can raise anxiety for many people, and yet we must have the conversations in our schools and our lives in order to be truly inclusive and grow more culturally competent. Learn way to engage authentically and respectfully acrosse differences.
 
A professional outreach specialist, Rosetta Lee designs and delivers trainings for school communities across the country as well as the local and national educational and nonprofit sectors.
 
She also serves Seattle Girls’ School in dual roles. As a faculty member, Rosetta teaches subjects such as science, math, technology, art, ethics, social justice, and more. Since 2004, she has also been a diversity speaker and trainer on a variety of topics, including cross cultural communication, identity development, implicit and unconscious bias, gender and sexuality diversity, facilitation skills, and bullying in schools. Ms. Lee has presented at numerous conferences and nonprofit organizations such as the White Privilege Conference, Junior League, and City Year. She has worked with over 200 K-12 public and independent schools throughout the country, as well as a number of colleges and universities. She has served several years on the faculty of the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS) Diversity Leadership Institute, as well as NAIS' diversity think-tank cadre, Call to Action.
 
Doors open at 6:00 pm, and the presentation will begin at 6:30 pm. Join us at 8:30 pm for dessert and coffee and post-presentation informal table talk. Childcare will not be provided.
