Crossman Dining Hall

The newly-renovated Crossman Dining Hall reclaims space that was once occupied by the Zale-Fields Theater, and now provides an expanded space for dining facilities as well as a community gathering space. As part of the Building Community Campaign, the Dining Hall was designed by Weiss/Manfredi - the award-winning architectural firm known for innovated, eco-friendly designs - was completed in September 2015 and truly transforms the dining experience for every student in our community.

The Dining Hall now provides the flexibility necessary to expand seating space and includes additional serving stations. In addition, the Dining Hall provides a separate area for Greenhill's youngest students. The renovations also include a private dining room and meeting space to go along with a modernized kitchen, servery stations and completely renovated bathrooms, which round out the incredible transformation.

The history of the former Crossman Hall (named for Jerome Crossman, a former Board Chair who facilitated the move to the new campus in 1959) strikes a similar tone as the Agnich Science Building as both buildings were built by famed-architect O'Neil Ford. In fact, both buildings broke ground on the same day, which was ten weeks after a fire wiped out the main building in April 1963. The face of Greenhill School changed on Sunday, May 16, 1965, as the dedication of the Fred & Ruth Agnich Science Hall along with the Jerome & Pauline Crossman Hall meant that for the first time in the school’s history, brick and mortar roots assured the school’s solidity and stature. As the second permanent building on campus, the former Crossman Hall has been one of most versatile buildings on campus as it has also served at times as the school's Library, Middle School, "Fish Bowl", Theater along with Maintenance Shop.
Crossman Hall served as the school's library and main dining hall.
The newly-renovated Dining Hall was completed in September 2015.
