Face Coverings

At various times throughout the school year, Greenhill may require students, employees, and visitors to wear mask. When determining if masks should be worn, Greenhill will review recommendations from DCHHS and CDC and local pandemic conditions.

  • If masks are required, they must be worn indoors.
  • Masks will not be required outdoors. Students will have the option to remove masks for PE, recess, and outdoor athletics.
  • Students, families, and employees may choose what type of mask they would like to wear, but masks must adhere to these requirements:
  • Masks may be surgical masks, KN95s, N95, or three-ply cloth masks such as the Greenhill mask
  • Masks may not have any words on them
  • Cloth masks should be solid colored; small patterns are permissible in Preschool and Lower School only
  • Greenhill masks are available for purchase in the Buzz
  • Face shields may not be used in lieu of a mask
  • All students should have an extra face covering/mask in their bag daily as a back-up
  • Cloth face coverings should be washed after every day of use
  • Gaiters (or buffs), bandanas, and vented masks will not be permitted as substitutes for the masks identified above.
