The Cultural Arts Committee is a parent-run committee of arts enthusiasts that exposes Greenhill students to a wide variety of amazing arts opportunities every year. Recent events include seeing The Nutcracker at the Dallas Children's Theater Center, hearing a New York Times
best-selling author describe his creative process, visiting a local animation studio and learning new dance techniques from a guest choreographer. These experiential activities often cause the arts to come alive for students outside the classroom.
The Greenhill endowment funds - The Muriel Seldin General Endowment for Cultural Arts and Ken and Becky Bruder '71 Cultural Arts - help support these curriculum enriching events. Donating to one of these funds is a great way to honor a teacher, staff member or student and expand supplemental arts opportunities for students.
Throughout the years, Greenhill has hosted some of the top artists in their fields, including Steve O'Brien, owner of Reel FX, and filmmaker Corrie Francis Parks. In addition, best-selling author Brian Floca of The New York Times
and award-winning poet Shihab Nye have shared their knowledge with the Greenhill community. Choreographers like Taylor McKie of Diversity Dance Company and the College College Dance have visited campus.
The Committee meets monthly to brainstorm new opportunities and coordinate events. The learn more or to join the committee, please contact one of our two Committee co-chairs: Angela Crates
