Step #1: Application
Submit an online application
, including a Family Statement, a Parent/Guardian Meeting Registration Form, Admission Test Registration Form and $100 application fee by December 9, 2016
. Please note that your application fees are non-refundable.
Step #2: Teacher Evaluation
Provide Greenhill School with your child's current teacher's name and work email address in the online application. Greenhill School will use this information to send an online Confidential Teacher Evaluation form to your child's current teacher. The Teacher Evaluation form must be completed and submitted to Greenhill School by January 20, 2017
. The Teacher Evaluation must be sent directly to Greenhill from the applicant’s current teacher. The Admission Office will not accept forms sent by parents. It is the family's responsibility to see that Greenhill receives these forms before the deadline.
Step #3: CATS TESTING
Register your child for CATS (Collaborative Academic Testing Services) testing. You may register your child online at www.catstexas.com
. CATS testing lasts about an hour and is administered to each child individually. The test costs $285 and is not included in the application fee. Parents will receive a summary of test results. Spots are limited, so schedule your testing as soon as possible. CATS testing must be completed by February 4, 2017. To be considered for a reduced test fee, please contact CATS directly.
Step #4: Progress Reports
Submit the Transcript/Progress Report Release Form to the applicant's current school. The Official Transcript or Progress Report must be sent directly to Greenhill from the applicant’s current school. The Admission Office will not accept forms sent by parents. It is the family's responsibility to see that Greenhill receives these forms before the deadline. Transcripts may consist of progress reports, test results and letter or numeric grades.
Step #5: Parent/Guardian Meeting
Attend a parent/guardian meeting, if applicable. The Admission office will schedule the meeting upon receipt of application forms. Parent/Guardian Meetings are for new applicant families only. They allow the Admission Committee to gain a better understanding of both the family and the applicant. These meetings are conducted by an admission officer, last approximately 20 minutes, and involve only the parent(s) or guardian(s). We will not conduct parent meetings for current families or for re-applicants from the previous year.
Step #6: Admission Testing
Complete admission testing at Greenhill, or another local private school. You will receive confirmation of your test date after your application is submitted. This visit includes a nationally standardized test called the AABL, which measures a student’s strengths in a school environment; the visit lasts about two hours. CLICK HERE

If you are applying to Episcopal School of Dallas, Good Shepherd Episcopal School, The Hockaday School, Parish Episcopal School or St. Mark's School of Texas, you may test at any school as test scores will be shared. Testing lists are shared by all participating schools as a test security measure. Applicants must be applying to the school at which they are testing. Parents should consider application due dates when selecting test locations. If you do not test at Greenhill, you will be required to participate in a group visit. This visit will last approximately an hour. The Admission Office will email you confirmation of your child's visit date.
Step #7: Financial Aid
If applying for financial aid, complete the Financial Aid Application
by February 15, 2017
. Financial aid decisions will be sent with admission decisions on March 10, 2017
. This new deadline is a change from previous years. While we are able to accept Financial Aid applications after this deadline, we cannot guarantee that funds will be available. Families of admitted students who apply by the deadline will now receive their financial aid award at the same time as their admission decision. Step #8: Admission Decision
Review your decision letter, which will be emailed after 4:00 p.m. on March 10, 2017
, to those applicants meeting the above deadlines. All applications received after the December 9, 2016
, deadline will be reviewed on a rolling admission basis. Decision types: Accepted, Waitpool and Non-Acceptance.
: These applicants are qualified to attend Greenhill and show promise of not only benefiting from, but also contributing to, the school. These students are offered enrollment positions. The school's offer must be accepted or declined by the date specified on the Enrollment Contract. A non-refundable tuition deposit must also be submitted at that time.
: These applicants are admissible but all available enrollment positions have been filled. Instead of being offered an enrollment position, a wait pool position is offered. Wait pools are NOT prioritized waiting lists; when and if an opening arises in a particular grade, the Director of Admission and the appropriate Division Head will determine which applicant in the wait pool can best fill that enrollment position. The wait pool does not carry over from year to year. Placement in the wait pool one year does not influence admission decisions for any following year in which the student reapplies to Greenhill. The wait pool is disbanded at the start of the school year and the admission process begins again for interested applicants.
